MailboxesSetting up an email mailbox on TexasData involves two steps: we set up the mailbox on our mail server and the customer sets it up on their computer. Each mailbox has a name, "yourname@texasdata.net," and a password. Typically, we assign a default password and you use that password to access your account, and to reset the password to something unique. Please write down your password and keep it in a secure location. After you reset your password, you will be the only one who can access the account. We cannot "recover" it for you. To set up a mailbox on your computer, you will need to specify three things in your email program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.): 1.That your new email account works with POP3 servers. 2. Specify to your email program your new email address and password. 3. Specify that the Incoming Server is: mail.texasdata.net, and the Outgoing Server is: mail.texasdata.net. Outgoing server needs to have a check box next to "My Server Requires Authorization" and the port number needs to be changed from 25 to 587. If you have any problems, call us and we'll be glad to help you. Thanks |
